In Memory of...

Hooves 'N Hounds would like to dedicate the work we do with dogs to "Ducati", a ten-year old German Sheppard cross. 

We first acquired Ducati in the spring of 2014 after his owner had lost her long battle with cancer.  Unfortunately, the owner did not have a contingency plan in place for Ducati at the time of her passing essentially leaving Ducati without a home or an owner. 

Jessi was contacted in a last ditch attempt to save Ducati from being put down for no other reason then his age.  Hooves 'N Hounds immediately opened their arms to this boy in desperate need of a second chance. 

When Ducati first arrived to our facility, he was extremely scared and aggressive.  We had never witnessed a dog so scared.  It had later been brought to our attention that Ducati had spent the majority of his life in a small backyard with little socializing.  With time and patience, Ducati allowed himself to trust and quickly became a member of our family. 

We were unwilling to put Ducati through any more traumatizing changes so we adopted him!  He became Jessi's little shadow, rarely leaving her side.  Ducati had finally learned to love again. 

Tragically, we lost Ducati in December, far too soon!!  He died in Jessi's arms as she embraced him one last time.  It only took a moment to fall in love with Ducati, and only a moment more to lose him.
